Contented Cattle

Here are a few photos of our late calving cows, on winter range. They will begin calving around the 25th of April, and so far all they owe us this fall is grass and some salt. I imagine sometime in Feb., we may start giving them a little cow cake to go with the grazing. If we don't get a bunch of snow, they should have nearly enough grass to get through the winter without supplementing them with hay. That is our goal anyway.

Looks like it ought to be a profitable deal. when did you turn the bulls in with these Tap. I think I turned ours in on about the 10th of July. They sure haven't taken much feed so far. I have spoiled them with a little praire hay.

We turned the bulls in on July 20th this last year Jinglebob. A year ago they were turned in on July 15th, and we got a few more calves in April than we would have liked. It worked out good, but as you know, we can still get a fair amount of tough weather in late April some years.
